WHAT WE PROVIDE

Services

It’s important to LMS that our clients have contract options to account for various hiring scenarios.

Please ask your recruiter for more information about the below options to determine what will be best for your company or firm. The goal in any of these scenarios is to ensure that we collaborate intimately for a positive and efficient process that reflects well on the firm and LMS.

Contingency Searches

The common appeal to contingency searches is the lack of commitment and open door to more options through several sources. However, in this scenario, neither the firm nor the recruiter has accountability. You may be accustomed to seeing a flurry of resumes at the beginning of the search, and then communication fizzles. The recruiter can’t dedicate its full focus and efforts to a contingency search because it’s high-risk for the agency. Recruiters also have enough experience to know they’ll be tripping over other recruiters who are contacting and potentially double-submitting the same candidates. Professionals often perceive this as desperation and disorganization on the firm’s part. Contingency searches can impact the momentum of your position and the quality of submissions, so we encourage our clients to view commitment as a good thing.

When LMS and its clients have a vested interest, the success rate and quality of experience will be higher for everyone involved.

Exclusive Contingency

“Exclusive” at LMS is not a blanket arrangement. We collaborate exclusively on one position at a time so our clients are still free to post jobs and use resources for its other positions. Exclusive searches are more collaborative by nature, where the company and the recruiter work together to locate and attract the person who is truly right for the job. The “exclusive” part of the agreement is just that: the client agrees to only utilize LMS’s recruiting support for a particular position and that role cannot be filled by other sources during the exclusive period. In these arrangements, LMS is able to learn our clients’ culture and unique needs intimately, which helps our team represent your firm with insight and passion.

Like the contingency search, a fee is owed to LMS only if our client hires one of our candidates.

Direct Hire

Direct hire jobs are permanent positions with our clients who hire our candidates directly (no period of employment or transition from our payroll to our clients’ payroll). Candidates immediately earn salaries, and potentially paid time off and benefits such as retirement accounts and health insurance. We have a layered, strategic, and specialized process for recruiting, vetting, and presenting quality legal talent under this arrangement, which can be done on a contingent of exclusive-contingent basis.

Project-based

It’s common for work to ebb and flow in the legal field, so we offer project-based support during periods of high-volume or to replace a temporary or long-term departure. This is a “pay as you go” service where LMS bills by the hour and covers all liabilities and insurance for the employee.

Temporary-to-Permanent

Similar to project-based work, this service is similar in nature but offers options to hire our candidates after trial periods. Our clients like this option when they aren’t ready to commit to a hire either because may not need a full-time hire, or perhaps they aren’t sure if the candidate has the right skill set or experience for long-term success. This option allows both the candidate and client to “test drive” the fit before “buying.”

Staff

The temporary legal support you need without the administrative burdens of taxes, insurance or payroll.

Temporary staffing or project-based support is a cost-effective solution to the inconsistent work flows common in the legal industry.

Our staffing solutions cover any position required in a law office setting - and for any duration of time.

Benefits of Temporary Staffing

  • Coverage for maternity/paternity leave, vacations, and short or long-term disability leaves.
  • Project-based support for that "in between" phase when existing employees can't take on more work but hiring additional staff isn't warranted.
  • Specialized help from legal professionals with "niche" experience who are qualified to complete projects that may be outside the scope of expertise within your firm.
  • Flexibility during periods of growth. Rely on temporary employees until your volume of work is stable enough to support full time staff.
  • Obtain the help you need when you need it. Our perpetual recruitment strategy enables us to serve the most immediate, time-sensitive requests.

Benefits of Temporary-to-Permanent Staffing

  • Flexible trial period allows the firm to "test drive" a candidate without incurring the time and money involved with the onboarding of a new employee.
  • Evaluate the performance of a temporary employee before committing to the specifics of a benefits package.
  • Earn credits toward a permanent placement after reaching minimum hour requirements.
